The World Poker Tour will continue to hold events in the Netherlands with the signing of an exclusive four year deal with Holland Casinos. The bwin.party owned WPT hosted their first WPT National event at Holland Casino  Valkenburg last year.

The 2015 tournaments will begin on May 11 at Venice of the North, a Holland Casino property – followed by a return to the Valkenburg casino on September 30th, according to reports.  WPT is one of the largest poker tours and a premier name in international poker.

Last year was the first posting of profit for Holland Casino after seven years of unprofitable operations.

In late January the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justices announced a public consultation on a draft proposal of the “Modernization Casinos Regime Act”. The impetus of the proposal was to reform the Dutch casino market and to privatize Holland Casino (officially known now as the National Foundation for the Exploitation of Casino Games in the Netherlands). The consultation ends on 28 March 2015. Affected persons have until then to submit their views.
